The types of lenders. What is better for you?
Posted: 01.01.2007

When you meet the same loan officer some years later and he works for another lender, he will try to explain you the reasons why that type of lender is better now. Realtors have differing opinions and their opinions also have changed after not a very long period of time. In the past they often recommended portfolio lenders - because they almost always closed the deal. After the time passed, mortgage bankers and mortgage brokers became to play much more important role on this market, and agents switched along with the changing times. Usually realtor directs a client to a specific loan officer who has demonstrated a track record of service and reliability - or a loan officer who works for a lender referred to their real estate office. Please remember that it is more important to choose a good loan officer, not the institution. Loan officers simultaneously do two jobs. One is to be your advocate in getting the loan approved and the other is to deliver quality loans. Of course you want the loan officer who has proven his reliability in the past -- someone you can trust. As in all our life, each kind of lender has his own strengths and weaknesses. Quality within each office can vary, depending on the support staff, loan officer and a variety of other factors. If you ask us we will try find for you the right lender.
